FLAME Heats Up Lowville
Get ready to rock and
roll…The band FLAME will be playing at the Lowville Elks Lodge on
Saturday, June 23 from 6 to 9 p.m.
A rock band, FLAME
consists of 11 members, all of whom have developmental and physical
disabilities, including autism, Down's syndrome, mental retardation, and
blindness. The band members team up on vocals, guitar, bass, drums,
percussion and dancing. Formed in 2003 at Lexington Center in Fulton
County in upstate New York, FLAME has received praise from celebrities
to politicians, and strikes a chord with people of all ages and
backgrounds.
The band,
whose mission is “to change the world through music,” averages 75
performances each year throughout the northeast. Their repertoire
includes more than 100 popular classic hits from the past five decades,
specifically the genres of pop, rock, country, and blues.
