Foundation awards grant to The Arc
Utica, NY— The Slocum-Dickson Foundation has awarded The Arc,
Oneida-Lewis Chapter a grant in the amount of $4,177.81 to expand training
in areas of Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. The grant money will be used
to purchase videotapes, books and computer materials that will help Arc
staff provide informative and consistent training sessions to teach staff,
parents and volunteers to better understand the complexity of Autism and
Asperger's Syndrome.
The training materials will provide current information and be
available for initial training and as a reference library, which will be
made available to other area agencies with similar needs.
The Arc is a non-profit human services agency which provides advocacy
and services for individuals with developmental disabilities in Oneida and
Lewis counties.
