Entry Level

Nickelback Driver - Per-Diem, Varied Waterville NY. High School Diploma/GED, 3-6 months general work exp., valid NYS drivers license. Responsible for the pick up, transport and delivery of product to Nickelback Redemption Center, owned and operated by The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter. This is essentially a route based driving assignment covering multiple counties. Secondarily this position will assist in the redemption center as needed when not in the vehicle.  Demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with other staff, family and individuals.

Floating Workshop Supervisor – FT, Arnold Ave MF 8:30am – 4AM. High school diploma/GED. One year supervisory experience or one year factory experience. Clean NYS driver’s license. This position is similar to that of a foreman in an industrial setting. The person is responsible for supervising production of designated amounts of work in a designated time periods. S/he is also the first line problem solver for people we support assigned to the work area.

DSP Mentor –  FT, Oneida County, 5 days a week. Schedule will vary per program needs. High school diploma or equivalency, valid NYS drivers license with acceptable record, current AMAP, CPR/1st Aid and SCIP certification, and all other necessary training. 3 yrs. DSP experience required. The DSP Mentor has the responsibility to teach and work alongside newly hired DSPs, teaching them the job duties and essential job functions for the care of the people we support.

Community Specialist –  FT, days.  Marcy. Associate Degree in Human Services or related field or High school diploma/GED with specialized training and year  of  experience in  working  with  persons  with  developmental disabilities.    Must  be  able  to  be  trained  and  maintain  First  Aid/CPR,  Medication Administration (AMAP) and SCIP-R.   Must have a clean valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract.   Staff will assists in the implementation of the person’s Individual Plan Services & Day Habilitation Plan by planning, providing and documenting community integration experiences utilizing as many community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan; assists in providing direct care, training and supervision to the extent required.

Residential Managers/Counselors – Full and Part time, Oneida and Lewis Counties, Variety of shifts including early mornings, evenings, split shifts (AM & PM), awake-overnights and weekends/holidays. Staff will ensure the health and safety of the people we support including personal care and assist in the effective and efficient physical and social operation of the residence during their assigned hours.  Requires a High School diploma/GED, and a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract.

College Works Resident Assistant Full Time, Oneida Co,   Mon & Fri 1:30pm – 9pm, Wed 1pm – 3pm, Sat and Sun 11am – 8p, High School Diploma or G.E.D. One year full-time experience working with people with disabilities. Valid driver’s license and required Agency driver’s training necessary to operate an Agency vehicle  Overall responsibility for the health and safety of the individuals in the residence and for maintaining the physical and social operation of the residence. Also responsible for providing the individuals who live in the residence with training and supervision to the extent required by their ISP.

Direct Support Specialist – Oneida Co, FT/PT Shared position with Residential Services and Day Services programs for specific programs/houses.. HSD/GED and six months of documented direct support experience, a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract and the ability to obtain and maintain Medication Certification and FA/CPR certifications.. Provide assistance and supervision of the individual’s day-to-day activities, socialization, recreation and daily living skills development in both programs.

Day Habilitation Specialist I – FT, Utica, days High School Diploma/GED and a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract.  Staff will assist in the implementation of the person’s ISP/Day Habilitation plan by providing direct care, training, and supervision to the extent required by utilizing as much community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan.

Respite Specialist –  FT-  Oneida County. Respite Care Home, Weekends (Fri-Sun), HSD/GED, and a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract. Respite Specialist will provide respite for family members of the people we support.  This respite service will take place at the respite residence. Staff will demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with the people we support, other staff and families.

Respite Specialist –  FT-  Oneida County. Community/Arnold Ave.  M – F, 2:15 –  10pm The Respite Specialist will provide respite for family members of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.  This respite service will take place in the community. Staff will demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with the people we support, other staff and family.   Requires a  High School diploma/GED, and a valid NYS driver’s

Habilitation Specialist – Per-Diem, part and full time, Oneida and Lewis Counties, High School Diploma/GED and experience with individuals with developmental disabilities or specialized training in related field, and a clean valid NY State driver’s license with an acceptable drivers abstract. The staff member is responsible to provide individuals with developmental disabilities with training and supervision to the extent required by their Individual Services Plan (ISP).   This training and supervision will take place in whatever setting is deemed appropriate under the guidelines of the plan, which has been developed with the individual.

Maintenance Mechanic – FT, Oneida County, Valid drivers license, high school diploma and two to four years experience in the building trade field. Thorough working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, masonry, painting and roofing fields. Implement day to day maintenance/basic renovation of the agency’s buildings and production equipment. Maintain all the physical requirements for the agency’s buildings, equipment scheduling and project layout.

On Call Supervisor – FT, Tues – Sat, Lewis County. High School Diploma/GED, one year experience as a DSP and a valid New York State Drivers License with an acceptable drivers abstract. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Residential Services ensures the Direct Support Professionals on all shifts are trained and working in accordance with their job descriptions to include site specific responsibilities; to assure appropriate coverage on all shifts, schedule replacement staff; provide supervision and guidance to all Counselors and Managers

Driver   Lewis County, part time. HS diploma/GED and clean, valid NYS drivers license. Provides transportation to and from Supported Employment sites in the community.   This position requires the ability to organize transportation routes, schedule riders, and to transport in dividuals with developmental disabilities.

Transportation Coordinator –  PT, flexible schedule, Lewis County. Class D Driver’s License and Acceptable driving record. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. High School Diploma/GED.  Coordinate the provision of transportation to individuals who qualify to and from Supported Employment sites in the community

College Works Career Instructor- Full time Southern Region College Works, MVCC Utica M-F. Bachelor’s degree in a field of education, human services, or related field and plus three years of work experience in vocational education as it relates to employment. Valid NYS drivers license. The Career Instructor will work with individuals with disabilities in a college based program to provide vocational career instruction for students enrolled within the College Works program at Mohawk Valley Community College. Instruction may involve a combination of different teaching methods to accommodate the diverse learning styles of students. The instructor will develop and implement program goals and objectives in various modules depending on the workforce needs in the local community. Position will work with Year 1 students on Career Exploration and Year 2 students on their Career Specialization. The Career Instructor should have personal experience in skill based occupations to help students develop those skills. The curriculum may change at any time.

CC/HIPAA Privacy Officer, FT, Oneida/Lewis Counties. Flexible schedule. Bachelor’s degree in human services or Registered Nurse. Experience in Health Services and/or Quality Assurance. Knowledge and experience in information privacy laws, access, release of information, and release control technologiesUnder the direction and guidance of the Chief Executive Officer and Governing Board, this position will be primarily responsible for overseeing and managing regulatory compliance issues as they relate to The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter.  Responsibilities include leading Agency compliance efforts, designing and implementing internal controls, policies and procedures to assure compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations, and third party guidelines; managing audits and investigations into regulatory and compliance issues and responding to requests for information from regulatory bodies.

CW Work life Skills Instructor  - FT, days, Rome MVC Bachelor’s degree in the field of education, human services, or related field. QIDP status preferred. At least one-year experience in the field of practice required. Valid NYS drivers license. Provide individuals with developmental disabilities with academic instruction,  training  and  supervision  to  the  extent  required  by  their  Individualized  Service  Plan  (ISP).  Responsibilities  inc lude  development  and implementation of college-based classroom instructions for work life skill development for students enrolled with the College Works Program at MVCC. This instruction, training and supervision with take place in whatever setting is deemed appropriate under the guidelines of the plan, which has been developed with the individual.

Employment Specialist   - FT, Oneida County & Lewis Co, flexible schedule.   Bachelor’s degree required and one year experience in vocational rehabilitation program.  Must have Valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract, a  personal vehicle and willingness to transport self and consumers, if needed. Responsible for the provision of employment supports to individuals with disabilities to help them identify and meet their vocational needs, maximizing their independence and utilizing all of the resources in the community available to them.

Service Liaison (3) –  FT, (CFS, DS and ES). Bachelors degree in Human Services, and one year documented experience in DD field, QIDP status. Valid NYS state drivers license with an acceptable driving record. Ensures and provide oversight for the integration and implementation of all services for each person we support. Responsible for processing daily service documentation for billing OPWDD-funded Services

Service Coordinator – FT, Oneida County, flexible schedule. Bachelor’s degree in health or human services. Valid NYS drivers license. To work with an individual with developmental disabilities and his/her family to promote the capacity of those involved to identify their needs and to procure resources in a manner that will enable them to acquire competency to rely on their own resources and abilities.

Licensed

Speech Language Pathologist –  FT, days, Oneida County. Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy or Speech Pathology, Permanent Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped.  One year experience in the evaluation and treatment of children with communication disorders in the Birth to School-Aged population. Valid NYS drivers license. To provide intervention and evaluation of speech and language disorders to those children who are identified in need of speech therapy services.  Provides direct speech therapy intervention to those children who are ass igned to clinician’s caseload. Evaluates and completes annual evaluations.

LPN Residential – Lewis County, FT, flexible schedule. Current NYS LPN licensure, valid NYS drivers license. To assist the Residential Services Registered Nurse/Program Manager in providing the day to day oversight and health care for individuals in various residences throughout the county.
