Entry Level

Residential Managers/Counselors – Full and Part time, Oneida and Lewis Counties, Variety of shifts including early mornings, evenings, split shifts (AM & PM), awake-overnights and weekends/holidays. Staff will ensure the health and safety of the people we support including personal care and assist in the effective and efficient physical and social operation of the residence during their assigned hours.  Requires a High School diploma/GED, and a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

(2) Respite Specialist – Respite Care Home, FT, Utica. Fri 1:30p – 9:30p, Sat and Sun 8am – 9:30pm. High School diploma/GED. Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. The Respite Specialist will provide respite for family members of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.  This respite service may take place in the community or at a site-based program.  Will demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with other staff, family and individuals.

Respite Specialist Awake-Overnight – Respite Care Home – FT, Utica. (Fri 9PM, Sat 9AM/9PM, Sun 9AM/9PM, Mon 9AM) High School diploma/GED. Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. The Respite Specialist will provide respite for family members of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.  This respite service may take place in the community or at a site-based program.  Will demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with other staff, family and individuals. Community Specialist – FT, days, Marcy. Associate Degree in human services or related field preferred, or High School Diploma or G.E.D. with specialized training, or year of experience in working with persons with developmental disabilities, or in an educational setting, or in a health care facility. Valid NYS drivers license.  Assists in the implementation of the person’s ISP/Day Habilitation Plan by planning, providing and documenting community integration experiences utilizing as many community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan; assists in providing direct care, training and supervision to the extent required.

Sr. Workshop Supervisor –FT, days, Utica. High school diploma/GED.  One year’s supervisory experience and specialized skill within designated area of need within the Sheltered workshop.  Provide floor supervision to a particular work area directly supervising the people we support with developmental disabilities.

2 – Day Habilitation Specialist IFT, days, Rome. H.S. diploma/GED and valid NYS drivers license. Ensures implementation of the person’s ISP/Day Habilitation Plan by providing direct care, training, and supervision to the extent required by utilizing as many community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan  2 PENDING

Day Habilitation Specialist I – per-diem, days, Turin. H.S. diploma/GED and valid NYS drivers license. Ensures implementation of the person’s ISP/Day Habilitation Plan by providing direct care, training, and supervision to the extent required by utilizing as many community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan

Day Habilitation Specialist I – FT, days, Turin. High school diploma/GED. Training or year of experience in working with persons with developmental disabilities, or in an educational setting or in a health care facility preferred. Clean valid NYS driver’s license required. Assists in the implementation of the person’s individual plan of services by providing direct care, training, and other support as necessary.

Shipping and Receiving Clerk/Back-up Truck Driver – FT, days, Oneida County. High school diploma or GED.  Class A CDL license. 1-3 year experience in shipping/receiving.  1+ yrs exp commercial driving preferred.  This position will be responsible for setting the schedule of Workshop truck drivers, coordinating all shipping and receiving activities within the Agency, maintaining a clean and orderly physical plant within the Shipping and Receiving Room and coordinate off site storage to maximize accountability and efficiency of goods storage. Back up responsibilities of the Class A CDL Truck Driver which is responsible for the transport, driving and delivery of the product assigned to the specific contracts as well as the material movement associated with the product being delivered.

Administrative Assistant – Employment Solutions – FT, days, Utica. HS diploma 1 year experience in administrative assistant and/or office management. Proven proficiency in Microsoft Works, Office, Access and Excel. Responsible for all administrative documentation and inter office communication within the  Employment Services Unit of Vocational Services in the North and South.  Acts as the coordinator of communication and data collection in Oneida County and as liaison to Lewis County.  Handles daily business functions of the placement programs, including working cooperatively with outside businesses, other Human Service Agencies and other divisions within The Arc.   Must be fluent in the use of computer business software, including Microsoft Works, Office, Excel and Access.   Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Requires the ability to work independently and to prioritize the input of statistical data.  Must be able to maintain confidentiality, both of consumer information and identity and staff personnel issues.

Residential Services Registered Nurse- South - FT, Southern Region M-F Flexible, The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.  Must hold valid certification as a Registered Nurse (RN or BSN) within New YorkState.  Some experience with the developmentally disabled is preferred.  Must have the ability to obtain First Aid and CPR Training Certification.

Associate Degree

CW Resident AssistantPT – 16 hrs, days, Utica. Associates Degree in Human Services and one year experience with individuals with developmental disabilities. Overall responsibility for the health and safety of the individuals in the residence and for maintaining the physical and social operation of the residence. Also responsible for providing the individuals who live in the residence with training and supervision to the extent required by their ISP.

Bachelor Degree

(2) Employment Specialist- FT, flexible schedule, Oneida County. Bachelor’s degree required and one year experience in vocational rehabilitation program.  Must have acceptable driver’s license, personal vehicle. Responsible for the provision of employment supports to individuals with disabilities to help them identify and meet their vocational needs, maximizing their independence and utilizing all of the resources in the community available to them.

CW Career Instructor FT, days, Utica. Bachelor’s degree in a field of education, human services, or related field and plus three years of work experience in vocational education as it relates to employment. Valid NYS drivers license. The Career Instructor will work with individuals with disabilities in a college based program to provide vocational career instruction for students enrolled within the College Works  program at Mohawk Valley Community College.  Instruction may involve a combination of different teaching methods to accommodate the diverse learning styles of students.

Service Coordinator -  FT, Oneida County, flexible schedule. Bachelor’s degree in health or human services to include a practicum or internship in assessments and service plan development. Valid NYS drivers license. Service Coordinator will work with an individual with developmental disabilities and his/her family to promote the capacity of those involved to identify their needs and to procure resources in a manner that will enable them to acquire competency to rely on their own resources and abilities.

CC/HIPAA Privacy Officer – FT, Oneida County, flexible schedule. Bachelor’s degree in human services or Registered Nurse. Experience in Health Services and/or Quality Assurance. Knowledge and experience in information privacy laws, access, release of information, and release control technologies. Under the direction and guidance of the Chief Executive Officer and Governing Board, this position will be primarily responsible for overseeing and managing regulatory compliance issues as they relate to The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter.  Responsibilities include leading Agency compliance efforts, designing and implementing internal controls, policies and procedures to assure compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations, and third party guidelines; managing audits and investigations into regulatory and compliance issues and responding to requests for information from regulatory bodies.

Service Liaison – FT, days, Marcy. Bachelor degree in Human Services, QIDP status preferred. Ensures and provides oversight for the integration and implementation of all services for each individual in a day habilitation program. Oversees Day Habilitation Plan to ensure consistency with the Individual Service Plan.

(2)CFS Service Liaison  - FT, days, Oneida County. Bachelors degree from an accredited program in a human services field or professional licensure which qualifies for QIDP status. One year experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities and specialized training. The Service Liaison will have the responsibility to oversee the clinical needs and services of the Community Habilitation and In-Home Respite programs.  Responsibilities include completing and reviewing assessments, plan development and implementation, and direct care as necessary.

Graphic Designer – FT, flexible schedule. Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience or Associate’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in desktop publishing, graphic design, photography and print processing/production. Experience using Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher) is required. Work in the Community Development department in collaboration with the Director, the Development Associate, Community Liaison and Community Development Specialist. Design and act as editor of the agency’s newsletter. Design flyers, posters, large display boards and any other print media as assigned by the Director. Obtain quotes for printing and work with printing companies regarding production and distribution according to deadlines. Attend and photograph agency events and conduct interviews as necessary. Edit photos for use in various media and maintain photo archives. Maintain the agency’s website, performing regular updates, edits and redesign as necessary.

Development Associate – FT, flexible schedule, Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business management, or a related field is required. Three to five years of experience in nonprofit fundraising/development. Significant experience working with high donor fundraising and a foundation preferred. Experience with fundraising databases preferred. Under general direction of the Director of Development and Public Relations, conceives, coordinates, plans and executes initiatives in the areas of patron relations, fund raising and special events for The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter, NYSARC.

Program Director-  FT, Southern Region – Riverside. Bachelor’s degree in a field of education, human services, social work, or a related field, or Registered Nurse.   Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional status.  Professional level proven leadership experience in a developmental disabilities program (one year).  Must be able to be trained in emergency first aid, including CPR and behavioral techniques as mandated by site needs.
