Entry Level

Residential Managers/Counselors – Full and Part time, Oneida and Lewis Counties, Variety of shifts including early mornings, evenings, split shifts (AM & PM), awake-overnights and weekends/holidays. Staff will ensure the health and safety of the people we support including personal care and assist in the effective and efficient physical and social operation of the residence during their assigned hours.   Requires a High School diploma/GED, and a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract.

Direct Support Specialist – Oneida Co, FT/PT Shared position with Residential Services and Day Services programs for specific programs/houses.. HSD/GED and six months of documented direct support experience, a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract and the ability to obtain and maintain Medication Certification and FA/CPR certifications.. Pr ovide assistance and supervision of the individual’s day-to-day activities, socialization, recreation and daily living skills development in both programs.

DSP Mentor –  FT, Oneida County, 5 days a week. Schedule will vary per program needs. High school diploma or equivalency, valid NYS drivers license with acceptable record, current AMAP, CPR/1st  Aid and SCIP certification, and all other necessary training. 3 yrs. DSP experience required. The DSP Mentor has the responsibility to teach and work alongside newly hired DSPs, teaching them the job duties and essential job functions for the care of the people we support.

Community Specialist –  FT, days.  Marcy. Associate Degree in Human Services, or High school diploma/GED with specialized training and year of experience in working with persons with DD.  Must be able to be trained and maintain FA/CPR, Medication Administration (AMAP) and SCIP-R certifications, a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract.  Staff will assists in the implementation of the person’s Individual Plan Services & Day Habilitation Plan by planning, providing and documenting community integration experiences utilizing as many community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan; assists in providing direct care, training and supervision to the extent required.

Day Habilitation Specialist I – FT, Utica, N. Utica days High School Diploma/GED and a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract.  Staff will assist in the implementation of the person’s ISP/Day Habilitation plan by providing direct care, training, and supervision to the extent required by utilizing as much community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan.

Day Habilitation Specialist lI – FT, Utica, days, AAS degree in Human Services preferred, or High School Diploma/GED with specialized training or 1 year experience with the DD population. Candidate must have a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract.  Candidate must be able to transfer and position persons and manipulate equipment such as wheelchairs and special lifts.   Must be trained in FA/CPR, Medication Administration, and SCIP-R, as based on site needs. Ensure the implementation of the person’s ISP/Day Habilitation plan by providing direct care, training, and supervision to the extent required by utilizing as many community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan.

College Works Resident AssistantFull Time, Oneida Co,   Mon & Fri 1:30pm – 9pm, Wed 1pm – 3pm, Sat and Sun 11am – 8p, High School Diploma or G.E.D. One year experience working with people with disabilities. Valid driver’s license and required Agency driver’s training necessary to operate an Agency vehicle   Overall responsibility for the health and safety of the individuals in the residence and for maintaining the physical and social operation of the residence. Also responsible for providing the individuals who live in the residence with training and supervision to the extent required by their ISP.

Respite Specialist –  FT- Oneida County. Respite Care Home, Weekends (Fri-Sun), HSD/GED, and a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract. Respite Specialist will provide respite for family members of the people we support. This respite service will take place at the respite residence. Staff will demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with the people we support, other staff and families.

Respite Specialist –  FT- Oneida County. Community/Arnold Ave.  M – F, 2:15 –  10pm The Respite Specialist will provide respite for family members of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.  This respite service  will take place in the community. Staff will demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with the people we support, other staff and family. Requires a High School diploma/GED, and a valid NYS driver’s

Habilitation Specialist – Per-Diem, part and full time,  Oneida and Lewis Counties, High School Diploma/GED and experience with individuals with developmental disabilities or specialized training in related field, and a clean valid NY State driver’s license with an acceptable drivers abstract. The staff member is responsible to provide individuals with developmental disabilities with training and supervision to the extent required by their Individual Services Plan (ISP).  This training and supervision will take place in whatever setting is deemed appropriate under the guidelines of the plan, which has been developed with the individual.

Courier FT, days, Oneida County. High School diploma/GED and/or comparable ability, Valid NYS Driver’s license with acceptable driving record training and experience that correlates with the function of the position. Candidate will provide Courier service to all departments and provide maintenance as designated.

On Call Supervisor –  FT, Tues – Sat, Lewis County. High School Diploma/GED, one year experience as a DSP and a valid New York State Drivers License with an acceptable drivers abstract. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Residential Services ensures the Direct Support Professionals on all shifts are trained and working in accordance with their job descriptions to include site specific responsibilities; to assure appropriate coverage on all shifts, schedule replacement staff; provide supervision and guidance to all Counselors and Managers

Driver  Lewis County, part time. HS diploma/GED and clean, valid NYS drivers license. Provides transportation to and from Supported Employment sites in the community.  This position requires the ability to organize transportation routes, schedule riders, and to transport individuals with developmental disabilities.

Transportation Coordinator –  PT, flexible schedule, Lewis County. Class D Driver’s License and Acceptable driving record. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. High School Diploma/GED.  Coordinate the provision of transportation to individuals who qualify to and from Supported Employment sites in the community.

Bachelor Degree

Clinical Supervisor  FT, flexible schedule, includes nights and weekends. Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related fields, or certification which meets the QIDP guidelines. Two (2) years experience working with people who are developmentally disabled. Responsible for the health and safety of the people we support, responsible for the effective and efficient clinica l and social operation of the residences and responsible for the development of the positive relationships with neighbors, local businesses, and other service providers. Oversees and supervises the staff with the implementation of residential habilitation plans.

CC/HIPAA Privacy Officer, FT, Oneida/Lewis Counties. Flexible schedule. BA in Human Services or a Registered Nurse. Experience in Health Services and/or Quality Assurance. Knowledge and experience in information privacy laws, access, release of information, and release control technologiesUnder the direction and guidance of the Chief Executive Officer and Governing Board, this position will be primarily responsible for overseeing and managing regulatory compliance issues as they relate to The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter.   Responsibilities include leading Agency compliance efforts, designing and implementing internal controls, policies and procedures to assure compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations,  and  third  party  guidelines;  managing  audits  and  investigations  into  regulatory  and  compliance  issues  and responding to requests for information from regulatory bodies.

CW Work life Skills Instructor  - FT, days, Rome MVC Bachelor’s degree in the field of education, human services, or related field. QIDP status preferred. At least one-year experience in the field of practice required. Valid NYS drivers license. Provide individuals with developmental disabilities with academic instruction, training and supervision to the extent required by the ir Individualized Service Plan (ISP). Responsibilities include development and implementation of college-based classroom instructions for work life skill development for students enrolled with the College Works Program at MVCC. This instruction, training and supervision with take place in whatever setting is deemed appropriate under the guidelines of the plan, which has been developed with the individual.

Employment Specialist   - FT, Oneida County & Lewis Co, flexible schedule.  Bachelor’s degree required and one year experience in vocational rehabilitation program.  Must have Valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract, a personal vehicle and willingness to transport self and consumers, if needed. Responsible for the provision of employment supports to individuals with disabilities to help them identify and meet their vocational needs, maximizing their independence and utilizing all of the resources in the community available to them.

Service Coordinator  – FT, Oneida County, flexible schedule. Bachelor’s degree in health or human services. Valid NYS drivers license. To work with an individual with developmental disabilities and his/her family to promote the capacity of those involved to identify their needs and to procure resources in a manner that will enable them to acquire com petency to rely on their own resources and abilities.

Masters Degree

Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor -  FT, M-F 8:30 AM – 4 PM Utica. Master’s  Degree  in  Human  Services  from  an  accredited  insititution  of  higher learning including six months experience of clinical training; or Bachelor’s Degree Human Services from an accredited institution of higher learning including two years experience  working  with  people  with  disabilities;  or Associate’s  Degree Human Services from an accredited institution of higher learning including three years experience working  with people with disabilities; or High School Diploma and a minimum of five years experience working with people with disabilities. Responsible for provision of employment supports to people with disabilities. Such services include clinical rehabilitation evaluations, assessments, and counseling as needed to assist people we support to identify and meet their vocational goals.  May include but not limited to providing job skill training and shadowing as well as classroom based instruction focusing on vocational preparation.

Licensed

Registered Nurse –  FT, days, Oneida County.   Current NYS licensure as a RN, valid NYS drivers license. To ensure the supervision and provision nursing services to the people we support at program sites. One year experience working with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred. Responsible for the implementation of medical policies and procedures within both programs and in accordance with agency and OPWDD regulations.

Speech Language Pathologist –  FT, days, Oneida County. Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy or Speech Pathology, Permanent Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped.  One year experience in the evaluation and treatment of children with communication disorders in the Birth to School-Aged population. Valid NYS drivers license. To provide intervention and evaluation of speech and language disorders to those children who are identified in need of speech therapy services.  Provides direct speech therapy intervention to those children who are assigned to clinician’s caseload. Evaluates and completes annual evaluations.

LPN Residential – Lewis County, FT, flexible schedule. Current NYS LPN licensure, valid NYS drivers license. To assist the  Residential Services Registered Nurse/Program Manager in providing the day to day oversight and health care for individuals in various residences throughout the county.
