Entry Level

Residential Managers/Counselors – Full and Part time, Oneida and Lewis Counties, Variety of shifts including early mornings, evenings, split shifts (AM & PM), awake-overnights and weekends/holidays. Staff will ensure the health and safety of the people we support including personal care and assist in the effective and efficient physical and social operation of the residence during their assigned hours.

Respite Specialist – Respite Care Home, FT, Utica. Fri 1:30p – 9:30p, Sat and Sun 8am – 9:30pm. High School diploma/GED. Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. The Respite Specialist will provide respite for family members of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.  This respite service may take place in the community or at a site-based program.  Will demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with other staff, family and individuals.

Respite Specialist Awake-Overnight – Respite Care Home – FT, Utica. (Fri 9PM, Sat 9AM/9PM, Sun 9AM/9PM, Mon 9AM) High School diploma/GED. Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Day Habilitation Specialist IFT, days, Rome. H.S. diploma/GED and valid NYS drivers license. Ensures implementation of the person’s ISP/Day Habilitation Plan by providing direct care, training, and supervision to the extent required by utilizing as many community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan

Day Habilitation Specialist I – per-diem, days, Turin. H.S. diploma/GED and valid NYS drivers license. Ensures implementation of the person’s ISP/Day Habilitation Plan by providing direct care, training, and supervision to the extent required by utilizing as many community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan

Direct Support Specialist – FT, days, Lewis County – Lowville and Turin. High School Diploma or GED; Valid Drivers License, and at least 6 months of Direct Support Professional experience. Provide assistance and supervision of the individual’s day-to-day activities, socialization, recreation and daily living skills development.

On Call Supervisor (2 – openings) –  Lewis County, FT35 hours. Tues 3:30pm – Sat 3:00pm and  Saturday 8:30am – Tues 9:00am.High School Diploma;1 year experience as a Direct Support Professional, Residence Manager or equivalent experience; valid New York State Drivers License; approved Drivers Abstract. Under direction of the Assistant Director of Residential Services ensures the Residence Counselors or other Direct Support Professionals on all shifts are trained and working in accordance to their job descriptions to include site specific responsibilities; to assure appropriate coverage on all shifts, schedule replacement staff; provide supervision and guidance to all Residence Counselors and Residence Managers.

Shipping and Receiving Clerk/Back-up Truck Driver – FT, days, Oneida County. High school diploma or GED.  Class A CDL license. 1-3 year experience in shipping/receiving.  1+ yrs exp commercial driving preferred.  This position will be responsible for setting the schedule of Workshop truck drivers, coordinating all shipping and receiving activities within the Agency, maintaining a clean and orderly physical plant within the Shipping and Receiving Room and coordinate off site storage to maximize accountability and efficiency of goods storage. Back up responsibilities of the Class A CDL Truck Driver which is responsible for the transport, driving and delivery of the product assigned to the specific contracts as well as the material movement associated with the product being delivered.

Office Clerk – ResidentialFT, days, Utica. High School diploma/GED and sufficient experience to effectively perform job functions. Thorough knowledge of all appropriate office skills and the ability to handle numerous tasks at the same time.  Must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. To ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Residential division in concert with the Residential Administrative Personnel. PENDING

Sr. Office Clerk – FT, days, Utica. High School Diploma, 2 years related experience or AAS degree and 1 year experience. Computer and calculator skills a must. Must be familiar with spreadsheets and word processing. This position requires versatility of skills and the ability to perform duties across all accounting functions within the Financial Management department. Work varies from daily clerical to more complex office functions that require an understanding of regulations, office rules, procedures and policies and specific routines followed by the departments in Financial Management.  The ability to be accurate, multi-task and promote good communication is key in achieving desired results. This position also assists Senior Financial Management positions as required.

Administrative Assistant – Employment Solutions – FT, days, Utica. HS diploma 1 year experience in administrative assistant and/or office management. Proven proficiency in Microsoft Works, Office, Access and Excel. Responsible for all administrative documentation and inter office communication within the  Employment Services Unit of Vocational Services in the North and South.  Acts as the coordinator of communication and data collection in Oneida County and as liaison to Lewis County.  Handles daily business functions of the placement programs, including working cooperatively with outside businesses, other Human Service Agencies and other divisions within The Arc.   Must be fluent in the use of computer business software, including Microsoft Works, Office, Excel and Access.   Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Requires the ability to work independently and to prioritize the input of statistical data.  Must be able to maintain confidentiality, both of consumer information and identity and staff personnel issues.

Associate Degree

CW Resident AssistantPT – 16 hrs, days, Utica. Associates Degree in Human Services and one year experience with individuals with developmental disabilities. Overall responsibility for the health and safety of the individuals in the residence and for maintaining the physical and social operation of the residence. Also responsible for providing the individuals who live in the residence with training and supervision to the extent required by their ISP.

Bachelor Degree

Service Liaison – FT, days, Marcy. Bachelors degree in Human Services, QIDP status preferred. Ensures and provides oversight for the integration and implementation of all services for each individual in a day habilitation program.

School to Work Coordinator – PT, Days, Oneida County. Bachelor’s degree and 1 year experience in a community based employment services program for individuals with disabilities. Valid NYS drivers license. Provide students referred to Foundations/Life after High School with classroom based instruction, community based experiences and supervision, as recommended in their Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) of those referred. Responsibilities include developing, revising and delivering work life skills and employability skills on a college campus. Must communicate effectively with school districts, families and employers, colleges and other community worksites incorporated into the program.

Children’s Respite Programs Coordinator – FT, Flexible schedule. Oneida County. Bachelors Degree in Human Services or a related field from an accredited college and 1 to 2 years experience working with persons with developmental disabilities, or an Associates Degree in Human Services and a minimum of 3 to 4 years experience working with persons with developmental disabilities. Previous supervisory experience. The Children’s Respite Programs Coordinator will work with Community Respite Programs Manager to plan, coordinate and direct programs for children. The Children’s Respite Programs Coordinator will also provide supervision of staff directly implementing the programs.  The Children’s Respite Programs Coordinator will oversee the day to day operation of HCBS Waiver Hourly Respite for children in the Community and Family Services Department

Graphic Designer – FT, flexible schedule. Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience or Associate’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in desktop publishing, graphic design, photography and print processing/production. Experience using Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher) is required. Work in the Community Development department in collaboration with the Director, the Development Associate, Community Liaison and Community Development Specialist. Design and act as editor of the agency’s newsletter. Design flyers, posters, large display boards and any other print media as assigned by the Director. Obtain quotes for printing and work with printing companies regarding production and distribution according to deadlines. Attend and photograph agency events and conduct interviews as necessary. Edit photos for use in various media and maintain photo archives. Maintain the agency’s website, performing regular updates, edits and redesign as necessary.

Development Associate – FT, flexible schedule, Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business management, or a related field is required. Three to five years of experience in nonprofit fundraising/development. Significant experience working with high donor fundraising and a foundation preferred. Experience with fundraising databases preferred. Under general direction of the Director of Development and Public Relations, conceives, coordinates, plans and executes initiatives in the areas of patron relations, fund raising and special events for The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter, NYSARC.

Employment Specialist – FT, flexible schedule, Bachelor degree and some sales experience. Valid NYS drivers license. Responsible for the provision of employment supports to individuals with disabilities to help them identify and meet their vocational needs, maximizing their independence and utilizing all of the resources in the community available to them.

Compliance Coordinator – FT, Utica, days. Bachelor’s Degree and 3 yrs exp in area of human services program development and/or Medicaid compliance or Associate Degree in Human Services and 5 yrs exp. Valid NYS drivers license. Responsible to systematically coordinate program quality measures and associated documentation for compliance with all State and Federal regulations pertaining to HCBS Waiver programs provided by Community and Family Services staff.  Demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with other staff, family and individuals.

Service Coordinator (2) – FT, flexible schedule, Oneida County. Bachelor’s degree in health or human services to include a practicum or internship in assessments and service plan development. Valid NYS drivers license. Service Coordinator will work with an individual with developmental disabilities and his/her family to promote the capacity of those involved to identify their needs and to procure resources in a manner that will enable them to acquire competency to rely on their own resources and abilities.
