Entry Level

Residential Managers/Counselors – Full and Part time, Oneida and Lewis Counties, Variety of shifts including early mornings, evenings, split shifts (AM & PM), awake-overnights and weekends/holidays. Staff will ensure the health and safety of the people we support including personal care and assist in the effective and efficient physical and social operation of the residence during their assigned hours.  Requires a High School diploma/GED and a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Respite Specialist - FT, Utica, M-F 2:15pm – 10pm. The Respite Specialist will provide respite for family members of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.  This respite service may take place in the community or at a site-based program.  Will demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with other staff, family and individuals.

Habilitation Specialist 1 – PT, Oneida and Lewis Counties, High school diploma/GED. Requires a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Responsible for the learning experiences and supervision of persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities.  Will demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with other staff, family and people we serve.

Habilitation Specialist II – PT, Oneida and Lewis Counties, High School Diploma/GED, a minimum of 1 yr. documented experience with the DD population or 6 months experience and specialized training in related fields that meet the distinct needs of the individuals.  A clean valid NY State driver’s license. The staff member is responsible to provide individuals with developmental disabilities with training and supervision to the extent required by their Individual Services Plan (ISP).  This training and supervision will take place in whatever setting is deemed appropriate under the guidelines of the plan, which has been developed with the individual.  All employees of The Arc Oneida-Lewis Chapter are expected to follow agency and program policies and procedures.

Community Specialist – FT, days, Marcy. Associate Degree in Human Services or High school diploma/GED with specialized training or year of experience in working with persons with developmental disabilities, Must be able to be trained in first aid, CPR, Medication Administration and behavior techniques.  Valid NYS driver’s license Assists in the implementation of the person’s Individual Plan of Services/Day Habilitation Plan by planning, providing and documenting community integration experiences utilizing as many community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan; assists in providing direct care, training and supervision to the extent required.

Day Habilitation Specialist I FloatFT, days, Marcy. H.S. diploma/GED and requires a valid NYS driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Ensures implementation of the person’s ISP/Day Habilitation Plan by providing direct care, training, and supervision to the extent required by utilizing as many community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan.

Day Habilitation Specialist II – FT, days, Marcy. Associate Degree in Human Services H.S. diploma or GED with specialized training or year of experience working with developmental disabilities.  Must be able to transfer and position participants and manipulate equipment such as wheelchairs and special lifts. Must be trained in emergency first aid, including C.P.R.  Medication Administration and behavioral interventions as based on site needs.  As Habilitation Specialist’s will be involved in providing transportation to individuals, clean, valid NYS Drivers license. Ensures implementation of the person’s ISP/Day Habilitation Plan by providing direct care, training, and supervision to the extent required by utilizing as many community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan.

Sr. Workshop Supervisor- FT, days, Utica. This position calls for a person with an appropriate industrial background, with knowledge of appropriate machine maintenance and set up.  Must be capable of supervising production.  The incumbent must also demonstrate an ability to deal effectively with the developmentally disabled population.  Provide floor supervision to a particular work area directly supervising the program participants assigned to them.

HR Staff Development Assistant – FT, days, Utica. To work in conjunction with the HR Staffing Coordinator, HR Assistant and the HR Staff Development Specialist to ensure the High School diploma and specialized training or experience with computer software applications and data processing.  1 year experience in Human Resources or Business Office environment. Ensure efficient and smooth operation of the Centralized Hiring application, screening and hiring process.  Demonstrate professional conduct to include compassion, dignity, and respect when interacting with other staff, family, individuals, applicants and candidates.

Associate Degree

CW Work Life Skills Assistant – FT days, Utica/Rome. Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related and/or three years experience in community based employment program for individuals with disabilities. Valid NYS drivers license. Responsible for providing training and support to individuals in the College Works Programs in Utica and Rome, in the classroom and in the community. Includes student assessments, job development activities for unpaid experiences, individualized job coaching and on site support in internships. Serves as back up the Instructors or Coordinators, as assigned

Bachelor Degree

Director of Development and Planning – FT, M-F Oneida County. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a closely related field; minimum of five years experience working in program development. Under the general direction of the CEO, performs a wide range of difficult-to-complex administrative activities related to the overall direction and management of The Arc’s Program Development. Ensure programs are designed in line with best practices and regulatory and accreditation requirements to include self – direction and the tenets of CQL.

Director of Human Resources: FT, Oneida and Lewis County, M-F. Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business, public or personnel administration, or any other related field; and ten years’ professional experience in personnel administration, including one year in a supervisory or administrative capacity. Oversees and administers personnel policies, wage and benefit programs, orientation and training programs, and the employment and employee relations functions.

Employment Specialist- FT, flexible schedule, Oneida Co.  Bachelor’s degree required and one year experience in vocational rehabilitation program.  Must have acceptable driver’s license, personal vehicle. Responsible for the provision of employment supports to individuals with disabilities to help them identify and meet their vocational needs, maximizing their independence and utilizing all of the resources in the community available to them.

School to Work Coordinator – FT, days, Oneida County. Bachelor’s degree and 1 year experience in a community based employment services program for individuals with disabilities. Valid NYS drivers license.  Provide students referred to Foundations/Life after High School with classroom based instruction, community based experiences and supervision, as recommended in their Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) of those referred. Responsibilities include developing, revising and delivering work life skills and employability skills on a college campus. Must communicate effectively with school districts, families and employers, colleges and other community worksites incorporated into the program.

Service Coordinator -  FT, Oneida Co., flexible schedule. Bachelor’s degree in health or human services to include a practicum or internship in assessments and service plan development. Valid NYS drivers license. Service Coordinator will work with an individual with developmental disabilities and his/her family to promote the capacity of those involved to identify their needs and to procure resources in a manner that will enable them to acquire competency to rely on their own resources and abilities.

DS Service Liaison – FT. Days, Utica. Ensures and provides oversight for the integration and implementation of all services for each person we support in the program.  Bachelor’s degree in a field of education, human services, social work or a related field or a HSD/GED and 5 years of documented experience in OPWDD operated program(s).  QIDP status preferred.

Business Development Project Coordinator – FT, days, Oneida Co,  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and two (2) years experience in production or manufacturing or Associates Degree and five (5) years experience in production or manufacturing. Meets with potential and existing customers to discuss requirements and prepares a financial price proposal. Calculates the amount of direct labor, materials and the agency’s overhead cost in each bid submitted to the customer. Develops piece rates for consumer payroll according to NYS Department of Labor utilizing MODAPTS methods of Predetermined Work Measurement Systems.  This position has a responsibility to be in compliance with all Federal and NYS Department of Labor requirements. Develops piece rates to avoid the consequence of over or underpaying workers where the agency would be required to pay back wages to workers and or be fined for DOL violations.

Licensed

Program LPN – Residential (Rome) PT, Sat and Sun 1-6pm, NYS Licensure as an LPN, valid NYS drivers license.  Experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred. To assist the Residential Services Registered Nurse/Program Coordinator in providing the day to day oversight and health care for the people we support in Residential Services.
