The Arc Speakers’ Bureau is a free service to local clubs, organizations, businesses and schools in Oneida and Lewis counties who invite speakers for educational and civic purposes. The Speakers’ Bureau was developed out of our desire to educate the community, to connect with, and become intimately involved in, the communities we serve.
The expertise of The Arc’s professionals, self-advocates and families covers a wide variety of topics relating to developmental disabilities, programs and services for people with special needs, career opportunities in health and human services, public relations and fundraising for non-profit agencies.
We provide our speakers with training and practice in public speaking skills. We also supply them with the necessary materials and support for giving an interesting and informative presentation to your group.
We can give a presentation showcasing the unique programs and services offered through our agency, or address another topic of interest to your organization.
Presentation Topics:
Other topics include, but are not limited to: Senior Services, Children’s Programs, Autism, Career and Volunteer Opportunities at The Arc, the CollegeWorks program.
