The Charles B. Wolkon Memorial Day Camp provides summertime fun and adventure for children ages 5 - 16 with a developmental disability, their siblings and their friends. Kids’ Camp is scheduled to surround summer school.
Campers enjoy indoor and outdoor cooperative activities including: arts and crafts, fishing, field sports, basketball, frog-catching, table games, karaoke, tie-dying and cooking. Children provide their own lunch and individual dietary needs are observed.
With support from staff, children learn and practice crucial social skills like playing appropriately, taking turns, sharing, holding conversations, making new friends and adjusting smoothly to changes throughout their day. Camp is a supported socialization/ recreational program.
Camperships are available for children that are not Medicaid Waiver eligible through Operation Sunshine.
A central meeting place for you to drop-off and pick-up your campers may be arranged for those in need of transportation.
