The Teen Outreach and Peer Socialization Program is an opportunity for teenagers with a variety of needs to develop appropriate peer relationships and socialization skills in a fun and supported environment. TOPS meets once a week for two hours. Each week we will discuss and practice the skills needed to have successful and appropriate relationships. In each session a different skill or concept that relates to social interaction will be introduced. Topics may include similarities between an individual's emotions and feelings, what is friendship, what kinds of friends you want, how to start a conversation and other conversational skills.
TOPS is designed and overseen by a special education teacher. The TOPS program is a structured program for up to 10 teens, ages 12-17 with Developmental Disabilities. Teens attending the TOPS Program must be Medicaid-Waiver Eligible.
Reservations are required.
