The Arc offers a wide
range of services for children in the areas of socialization, recreation and therapy. Support, education and respite are also offered for parents and
caregivers
Groups for children with
special needs are available, focusing on fun, friendship and learning.
Evaluation, treatment
and therapeutic play groups for children, birth to 18 years of age, with
developmental and physical disabilities and neurological disorders are
available. The Arc provides Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech therapy
and Special Education
services.
The services and
programs offered differ between the counties and are outlined below.
Oneida County:

Abilities Awareness-program for
local schools that was designed to help school students and
personnel become more aware of the challenges faced by those with
disabilities. |

Kids Camp-Summertime fun
and adventure for children with a Developmental Disability, their siblings and
friends |
 | Children’s Therapy Services-Occupational,
Physical, and Speech therapies and Special Education services offered
at The Arc's Therapy & Play Center, in the home, or in a community
setting. |

Early Intervention-services for children birth to three
years

Related Services-services for children four to five years
of age
·
Third Party Reimbursement-services for children who do not
qualify for services through another program. Please contact The Arc to
determine if we are an approved provider of your insurance company

Pride -the Pride Program
provides a structured socialization skills curriculum and outreach
program to identified groups of children with intellectual and other
developmental disabilities. |
 | Reading, Math & After School
Learning- is an educational and tutoring program designed to aid
individuals in areas of difficulty |
 | Saturday Friends-a
socialization and supported play program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. |
 | Sensory Swim-a recreational
aquatic program for children with special needs facilitated by a
licensed therapist. |
 | Social Connections-helps
develop necessary skills and understanding in varying social
environments. |
 | Splish Splash-aquatic
developmental playgroup available to children birth to three years
with special needs through the Oneida County Early Intervention
Program. |

STARS-works in collaboration
with school districts, addressing the challenging behavioral needs
of younger students in a classroom learning environment. |
 | Support & Education for Families- |
 | Lecture Series- monthly lectures by local professionals,
that focuses on services offered in the community and strategies
for parents, teachers, and other professionals to use when
working with children with disabilities |
 | Enhanced Residential Habilitation-individualized
consultation services in the home by an Occupational Therapist,
Physical Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist, or Special
Education Teacher to address any areas of need in the home |
 | Teen Outreach Peer Socialization (TOPS)-a
socialization program for teenagers diagnosed with Autism Spectrum
Disorder |
 | Teen
Time-a socialization and recreation program for teens
with developmental disabilities and offers them the opportunity to
“hang out” with friends and join in activities and games |
