PRIDE
Students Taking Pride in Themselves, Their School, and Their Community
A
collaborative effort between the school district and The Arc,
Oneida-Lewis Chapter, NYSARC.
The Pride
Program provides a structured socialization skills curriculum and
outreach program to identified groups of children with intellectual and
other developmental disabilities. The Pride Program was developed for
junior high school students in order to help students adjust to the
special challenges faced by teens with a disability. The program teaches
and assists the youth in learning how to constructively integrate their
behavior with others in the school, community, and home environments.
The Arc also assists in providing a link between the home, the school,
and the community.
