Reading, Math and After School Learning Program 

 

Program for children 8-18 years old with Developmental Disabilities who are OMRDD eligible. 

 

Reading Program will provide one hour of one-on-one tutoring for students experiencing reading difficulty.  

The sessions will provide instruction in the areas of phonemic awareness, the alphabetic principle (phonics), decoding, and reading.  Activities will also be incorporated into each session to encourage reading, writing, listening, and speaking for response to literature and for social communication. 

Math Program will provide one hour of one-one tutoring for students experiencing math difficulty.

The sessions will provide instruction and activities designed around the individual student in order to support accuracy and fluency of basic facts, key concepts, operations, problem-solving concepts, content knowledge, and skill integration.

Program for After School Learning is designed to provide remediation and extra practice on educational skills being learned.  30 minutes–one hour of individual support will be offered for assistance with homework, organizational skills and confidence in the learning process. 

Provided by certified teachers.

Offered after school Monday–Friday  at the Arc’s Therapy and Play Center 241 Genesee Street Utica, NY
