Nothing can be more rare and precious for families with someone with a intellectual or developmental disability in the home than a little time away. Whether this is for visiting, errands, trips, or simply to spend time with another family member, The Arc can help meet this need with several options.
Respite Care Home
Overnight or hourly respite is available at the Respite Care Home to meet families' needs to go out of town or have a break. Open seven days a week and for overnights Friday - Monday, Arc staff provide alert all-night attendance and community outings.
The Respite Care Home is available by reservation and can occasionally be used to assist during family emergencies.
Traditional Respite
The Arc provides trained employees to care for people with disabilities in their own home when the family needs to be away.
Respite/Reimbursement
The family can choose to hire someone who is not an Arc employee. The cost of this assistance will be reimbursed by The Arc to a pre-approved level.
Hourly Respite in the Community
This respite service is provided to the family by taking the individual with a disability out into the community on a social outing with peers.
