The Arc has been instrumental in initiating collaborations and partnerships with the Oneida County and Lewis County Office for Aging. We have networked with OCOFA to offer a bi-monthly noon meal in the Knoxboro area for the general senior population as well as for people with disabilities. We have expanded the meal to include a program as well. Some are educational, others are more recreational in nature. Also, in Lewis County, the same program opportunities are offered for the general population as well as for persons with intellectual and other disabilities. Our hope is to one day have fully integrated programs for our elderly population as we become more and more alike as we age.
