Day Habilitation

Day Habilitation services are designed to provide individualized assistance to persons who wish to acquire and maintain life skills that would enable them to become and remain a productive member of our community. 

The services offered provide assistance with acquisition, retention and improvement of self-help, socialization, adaptive skills and development of manual or perceptual motor skills.  The services are designed to correspond with the person's individual strengths and needs.   

A variety of Day Habilitation activities include:

  Mobility training
  Development of social behaviors
  Development of communication skills
  Training and assistance in developing basic safety skills
  Training and assistance in developing competency in housekeeping skills
  Training and assistance in developing competency in personal care skills
  Training and assistance in developing health care skills
  Training and assistance in developing money management skills
  Provision of individual and group social, health-related, and recreation activities
  All necessary transportation
 

Individuals shape their daily activities in accordance with their wants, dreams and desires.  Providers are given flexibility to be creative when developing activities, which enables all individuals to pursue their valued outcomes. 

 Habilitation services are directed toward acquiring, retaining, and improving the self-help, socialization and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in the current home and community based settings. 

Day Habilitation services provide individuals with opportunities to achieve satisfying and rewarding connections and relationships within their communities.
