  • Float Day Habilitation Specialist 1

    2 FT, day hours, Oneida County (covers Marcy, Rome, Utica, Kirkland).   High school diploma/GED, valid NYS driver’s license. Assists in the implementation of the person’s ISP/Day Habilitation Plan by providing direct care, training, and supervision to the extent required by utilizing as many community based resources and supports as appropriate to the plan.

  • Foundations Instructor - Employment Services 

    FT day hours, Oneida County - Rome.  Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, 1 yr exp in field.  Valid NYS driver’s license. Provide students referred from home school districts with academic instruction, training and supervision to the extent required by their Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). Responsibilities include development and implementation of college-based classroom instructions for work life skill development for students enrolled in the Foundations Program at MVCC. This instruction, training and supervision with take place in whatever setting is deemed appropriate under the guidelines of the plan, which has been developed with the individual.

  • Life Skills- Employment Services 

    FT, day hours, Oneida County - Utica. Bachelor’s degree in Human services, or related field. 1 yr  exp. working with youth preferred.  Valid NYS driver’s license. Provide students enrolled in the Walmart Foundation School to Community Transition Project services to the extent required by the grant. Responsibilities include development and implementation of college-based classroom instruction for work life skill development in addition to community based activities to meet the goals as indicated in the project narrative.  The participants will exit the program with an individualized  “Plan for Life After High School”. The grant is a 3 year project.

  • CW Career Instructor - Employment Services 

    FT, day hours, MVCC Campus. Bachelor’s degree in a field of education, human services, or related field and plus three years of work experience in vocational education as it relates to employment. To work with individuals with disabilities in a college based program to provide vocational career instruction for students enrolled within the CollegeWorks Program at Mohawk Valley Community College.  Instruction may involve a combination of different teaching methods to accommodate the diverse learning styles of students.

    FT, day hours - Rome - MVCC Campus. Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Qualified Mental Retardation Professional Status and specialized training or year of experience in working with persons with developmental disabilities preferred. Provide individuals with developmental disabilities with academic instruction, training and supervision to the extent required by their individualized service plan (ISP). Responsibilities include development and implementation of college based classroom instructions for work like skill development for students enrolled with the CollegeWorks program.

Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy or Speech Pathology, Permanent Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped.  One year experience in the evaluation and treatment of children with communication disorders in the Birth to School-Aged population.  Early Intervention, Related Service, Home Based Consultation and also Center Based Therapy including Social Skills groups.
