Arc Silent Auction set for April 5

The Arc's Silent Auction & Basket Raffle will be held on April 5, 2008 at the Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford. Michael Park of the daytime drama "As the World Turns" hosts the annual event. The Saturday-evening auction is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. and is presented by the Friends of the Arc Foundation.  Park has made several fundraising appearances on behalf of people with developmental disabilities.

     

Park plays the character of Jack Snyder on the popular show seen each day on the CBS television network. He has been a regular on “As the World Turns” since 1997. Park has also appeared on Broadway including the original cast of “Smokey Joe’s Café,” and in the Tony-nominated Broadway revival of Little Me with Martin Short and Faith Prince. Park appeared in the revival of “Applause” the weekend of February 9th.

      Co-chairs of the auction are Lucia Soults and Sue Rusyniak. Several theme baskets will be available for raffle and the evening offers Silent Auction items including toys, art, gym memberships, sports items, jewelry and much more. The Band Charlie will play from 10 p.m. until midnight.

      There will also be a reverse raffle (last ticket drawn wins $2,500!) There will be seven prizes and only 300 tickets sold! Tickets are $25. For tickets call 272-1533.

      Admission tickets are $30 in advance and will be $40 at the door. Reservations can be made by calling 272-1533 or emailing comdev@thearcolc.org. Reservations made prior to the event will be considered advance sale ($30). 

      Proceeds from this event will benefit Arc programs such as Saturday Friends (recreation/respite program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their siblings); TOPS (Teen Outreach Peer Socialization) program; Charles B. Wolkon Day Camp and CollegeWorks (college program for individuals with disabilities).
