Parking Lot Safety Tips
- Be alert and aware of your surroundings.
- Park in a well-lit, highly visible parking space.
- If you work late hours, move your vehicle closer to the entrance/exit of the building.
- If possible, try walking in groups when going to your vehicle.
- Be mindful of uneven areas on the ground.
- Watch for pot holes or cracks in the ground.
- Be mindful of gravel or stone while walking.
- Avoid using your cell phone or head phones while walking in a parking lot.
- Try to avoid backing out of a parking space if at all possible.
- Be mindful of your speed in any parking lot.
- Wear appropriate footwear with suitable traction when the weather is bad.
- Notify Facilities Management and your Safety Committee member of any known hazards.
