College Works Resident Assistant

In this role you will be accountable for the health and safety of the individuals in the supported apartments (Dorm Rooms) and for maintaining the physical and social operation of the supported apartments.

Evening schedule 3pm to 10pm ; varying days & weekends

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the individuals by providing oversight, guidance and training in the completion of daily living tasks.
  • Assist in household tasks such as laundry and housecleaning.
  • Assist in menu planning, preparation and cooking, ensuring that the individual’s dietary and nutritional needs are followed. Shopping with the goal of increasing independence.
  • Medical and dental appointments with oversight by the IRA RN. Includes completing health care records, act as liaison with medical professional and administer medications as required.
  • Assist with Financial management, budgeting, banking and shopping.

Qualifications:

Direct Support Specialist

You will provide assistance and supervision of the individual’s day-to-day activities, socialization, recreation and daily living skills development. Demonstrate the interpersonal skills needed to work with multiple departments simultaneously. Exhibit good judgment skills, involving and concern for, the individuals wellbeing, safety and rights. Willingness to follow directives and supervisory guidance. Ability to interact with co-workers, individuals served, families and the public with emotional maturity, good judgment, tact and courtesy.  Must be able to perform responsibly under indirect supervision.

Schedule is Full Time, Flexible to include nights & weekends. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for becoming familiar with the individual’s Care Plan/Safeguards and provide any change of information and/or concerns to the program supervisor.
  • Monitor and provide the extent of assistance necessary with activities of daily living, i.e. toileting, eating, ambulation and dressing, including the provision of lifting assistance as needed.
  • Work with people on habilitation allowable services in accordance to established frequencies and adhere to documentation standards.
  • Administer medications (site based only) per NY State and agency policies and procedures.

Forklift Operator

In this role you will support the building operation through moving, collecting, loading, shipping, and receiving product.  The position is responsible for operating technical equipment like forklifts and other powered equipment to support the operation schedule.  As a key member of the operations team, the position will also support other warehouse and production functions to meet the customer deadlines

Schedule is Monday- Friday, Full Time

Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklift and powered hand truck to move product throughout operation.
  • Load and unload trucks and containers moving product both in and out of facility.
  • Conduct inventory of both raw materials and finished goods in warehouse.

Habilitation Specialist II

In this role you will provide individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities with training and supervision required by their Individual Services Plan (ISP).

Full Time & Part Time available. Schedule is flexible to fit individuals schedules according to their needs.

Responsibilities:

  • One on One ratio
  • Provide the necessary therapeutic assistance and/or training to individuals, living in a variety of settings, per their habilitation plan.
  • Ensure the implementation of the individual’s Habilitation Plan utilizing as many appropriate resources as possible in their community.

Production Supervisor

In this role you will be responsible for the entire production operation in a specified area providing direction and supervision to Production Staff.  The goal is to ensure finished products are completed with the highest quality standard and to the customer or contract specification in a timely manner. You will oversee all raw material into the production area, standard operating procedures including work flow and processing, through delivery of finished goods ready for shipping.

Schedule is M-F, 35-40 Hours, Full Time.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and oversee entire production operation in specific area to ensure that finished products are completed on time and to customer or contract specification.
  • Assign and communicate production tasks to all Production Staff in production area each day.
  • Maintain timely and accurate production documents daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Set up area with raw materials, tools, and equipment necessary for the Production Staff to complete the job to specification.

Responsibilities:

  • Assure the maintenance, housekeeping and food preparation duties of the residence in order to provide a clean, neat, healthy and safe environment. Provide oversight and guidance if necessary to the individuals in the completion of household tasks such as laundry, menu preparation, and shopping, cooking, minor maintenance of the house and grounds with the goal of increasing independence.
  • Know the current Individualized Service Plan specific to each individual and follow through with the provision of services as outlined.

College Works Work Life Skills Assistant [Associate's Degree]

In this position you will assist the College-Works Work Life Skills Instructor in the daily implementation of the program and classroom instruction. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the program staff with the development and implementation of classroom instruction, skill training and supervision of individuals enrolled in the program and back- up for Work Life Skills Instructor when absent.

Schedule is primarily M-F but variable hours to meet the needs of the class; could include a weekend shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development of curriculum for work life skills training in conjunction with the Work Life Skills Instructor and the Director of College Works.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor each person's social, medical, and financial well-being and report all concerns to the Clinical Supervisor or Assistant Director. Oversee the arrangement of medical appointments with input from the RN.
  • Direct supervision of staff including: facilitate and attend all site visits for prospective employee candidates, provide on-site orientation for all new hires as well as on-going training for all staff, approve time off requests, securing coverage to ensure adequate staffing plans at all times,
  • Provide oversight and guidance to the people we support , with the completion of household tasks such as laundry, menu preparation, shopping, cooking, minor maintenance of the house and grounds with the goal of increasing independence.

In this role you are the centralized planner between multiple production facilities. This position works closely with each location to develop and maintain a production schedule based on customer demand and an accurate inventory for both raw material and finished goods will be maintained by the Production Planner. The planner will be the liaison for support departments and the sales team for real time production information for each location.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee an operation workflow that ensures accuracy between all internal paperwork for the entire production process between each facility and supporting departments.

Responsibilities include development and implementation of college-based classroom instructions for work life skill development for students enrolled in the College-Works program at MVCC. This instruction, training and supervision will take place in whatever setting is deemed appropriate under the guidelines of the plan, which has been developed with the student

This position carries responsibility for engaging, coordinating and monitoring productivity by providing training and oversight to the daily operation of the Sanzone Group Placement. The position is similar to that of a floor supervisor or foreman in an industrial setting.

  • Analyze jobs at the work site through observation and hands-on assessment. Responsible for job set-up and quality control according to specifications.

  • Assists the Registered Nurse in overseeing the general health and routine medical management of all program residents on a daily basis to include basic therapeutic and preventative nursing procedures
  • Assists direct care staff with extraordinary comprehensive medical appointments, emergency room visits and hospital stays.

Lead Janitorial Worker

In this position you are responsible for the completion of daily cleaning tasks in Lewis County.  This position will also oversee supplies inventory, and equipment maintenance.  This position will be responsible to clean multiple Arc locations on a daily basis.  This involves using an agency provided vehicle to travel from location to location on a daily basis.

Schedule is Monday-Friday Evenings 

Responsibilities: 

  • Have a functional understanding of all aspects of the customers cleaning requirements.
  • Maintain proper security when entering/leaving the building to comply with rules set forth by the customer.

Residence Counselor

You will provide management of the day-to-day operations of the residences and supervision of the individual’s day-to-day activities, socialization, recreation and daily living skills development.

Full Time & Part Time; Variable schedules to include split shifts, nights & weekends.

  • Day to day implementation of assigned person we support’s ISP utilizing as many appropriate resources as possible in the community

Residence Manager

You will provide management of the day-to-day operations of the residences; supervision of the individuals day-to-day activities, socialization, recreation and daily living skills development.

Full Time & Part Time; Variable 3 day incremented schedules, sleeping overnights required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assure the maintenance, housekeeping and food preparation duties of the residence in order to provide a clean, neat, healthy and safe environment. Provide oversight and guidance if necessary to the individuals in the completion of household tasks such as laundry, menu preparation, shopping, cooking, minor maintenance of the house and grounds with the goal of increasing independence.
  • Know the current Individualized Service Plan specific to each individual and follow through with the provision of services as outlined.
  • Review the Daily Notes and House Log since their last shift. Complete or review incident reports and forward to the Program Manager within prescribed time frames. Assure that medication verification is completed per policy during their shift. Follow fiscal accountability procedures and maintain accurate financial records for each individual.

Sr. Plan Writer [Bachelor's Degree]

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the Plan Writers as well as ensuring all Staff Action Plans, IPOPs, documentation of plan of services based on person centered planning concepts that are delivered to each assigned person we support. The Senior Plan Writer oversees the Plan Writer to ensure they are working with the person and their support team to develop and revise the habilitation goals with a focus on areas that are most important to the person, and is ultimately responsible for ensuring consistent implementation and documentation of all aspects of the individual’s program plan. The Senior Plan Writer ensures that these services are developed in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations. The Senior Plan Writer will serve as a back up to the Plan Writers on their caseload as needed.

Schedule is Monday-Friday Flexible to meet caseloads needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Plan Writers to ensure IPOPS, Staff Action Plans, documentation of plan of services is based on person centered planning concepts, created and disseminated within regulatory requirements, updated as appropriate and staff implementing the plans are properly trained.
  • Conduct on-site observations and provide feedback to staff to ensure proper, consistent implementation of goals and plans.
  • Serve as a back-up, in the absence of the Plan Writer, to develop all aspects of Staff Action Plans including IPOPs and work with departments to ensure all information necessary for new intakes is obtained, implemented and shared appropriately with team members.
  • Assist the Plan Writer in providing training to staff, with assistance of program supervisors and/or agency nursing, clinical staff, on all aspects of an individual’s program plan including Staff Action Plans, IPOPs, special diets and all corresponding documentation, including Therap documentation.
  • Maintain individual files and record keeping procedures for quality and compliance in accordance with OPWDD as well as local, state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure Therap is updated appropriately to reflect any changes within the person we supports life (including updating the IDF and uploading appropriate documentation into Therap)
  • Ensure Staff Action Plans are disseminated to the Care Manager within regulatory requirements and agency procedures.
  • Travel to various program locations in Lewis County on a regular schedule to provide ongoing oversight to the implementation of the individual’s staff action plan.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field
  • Ability to meet QIDP requirements
  • Three years of experience working with people receiving OPWDD services
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
Licensed Practical Nurse [Licensed]

You will ensure the supervision and provision of nursing services to the people we support at the program sites. Responsible for the implementation of medical policies and procedures with assigned site in accordance with the Arc and OPWDD regulations.

Full Time; Flexible schedule

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Registered Nurse in overseeing the general health and routine medical management of all program residents on a daily basis to include basic therapeutic and preventative nursing procedures
  • Assists direct care staff with extraordinary comprehensive medical appointments, emergency room visits and hospital stays.
  • Assists with nursing assessments, summaries and medical records under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to staff and individuals on diet and nutrition. Reviews menus for proper nutrition.

 Qualifications:

  • Valid current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within New York State
  • Specialized training or experience in working with persons with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
Maintenance Mechanic

In this role you will be responsible to implement day to day maintenance/basic renovation of the agency’s building and production equipment. You will maintain all the physical requirements for the agency’s buildings, equipment scheduling and project layout.

Schedule is Monday – Friday 7:30-2:30

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining the heating, electrical, plumbing and security systems as required by all city state and insurance codes.
  • Carry out all carpentry, electrical, heating, plumbing or construction (masonry, roofing) repairs.
  • Maintain buildings of both a residential and commercial/industrial nature. Assist in renovations required to update the present physical conditions of the agency’s buildings. Assist in new construction projects.
  • Maintain all machines and mechanical equipment in good working order, set up and/or update machine functions as required.
  • Engage in painting, landscaping and any other such task as to ensure the best physical condition of agency properties.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and at least two years experience in the building trade field.
  • A thorough working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, masonry, painting and roofing fields.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License
