College Works Resident Assistant

In this role you will be accountable for the health and safety of the individuals in the supported apartments (Dorm Rooms) and for maintaining the physical and social operation of the supported apartments.

Evening schedule 3pm to 10pm ; varying days & weekends

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the individuals by providing oversight, guidance and training in the completion of daily living tasks.
  • Assist in household tasks such as laundry and housecleaning.
  • Assist in menu planning, preparation and cooking, ensuring that the individual’s dietary and nutritional needs are followed. Shopping with the goal of increasing independence.
  • Medical and dental appointments with oversight by the IRA RN. Includes completing health care records, act as liaison with medical professional and administer medications as required.

Day Habilitation Specialist I

In this role you will provide assistance and supervision of the individual’s day-to-day activities, socialization, recreation and daily living skills development to improve the individual's quality of life.

Schedule is Monday-Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Day to day implementation of assigned person we support’s LifePlan utilizing as many appropriate resources as possible in the community
  • Ensuring supervision of assigned persons at all times
  • Promote and follow person driven choices in independence, individualization, inclusion, and productivity

Document Transport Route Driver

This is a local route driving position utilizing a single axle box truck provided by the employer. You will be primarily responsibility of the collection, placement, load, unload, transport, and delivery of wheeled bins under subcontract agreement to specific customer locations. You will need to operate equipment when necessary to load and unload the truck. You will maintain detailed records in compliance with employer procedures. You will also assist in production and warehouse work when not driving the truck.  You will be back up other fleet drivers as assigned.  All of our employees must demonstrate professional conduct to include respect, dignity, and compassion when interacting with customers and staff.

Schedule is Monday-Friday, Full Time, Flexible to meet production demands. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collect, place, load, unload, transport and deliver wheeled bins to assigned locations on route.
  • Remove and replace bins at specific locations inside a variety of customer buildings.
  • Transports bins from customer locations daily and weekly to be destroyed by contracted vendor.
  • Ensure all records for transport, delivery and transfer are recorded and presented accurately and timely.
  • Ensure accuracy of documentation to match number of bins and include all specific information according to company policy. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all customers and staff. Develop and maintain relationships with customer department contacts to ensure contract success both onsite and electronic communication.

Qualifications:

Direct Support Specialist

You will provide assistance and supervision of the individual’s day-to-day activities, socialization, recreation and daily living skills development. Demonstrate the interpersonal skills needed to work with multiple departments simultaneously. Exhibit good judgment skills, involving and concern for, the individuals wellbeing, safety and rights. Willingness to follow directives and supervisory guidance. Ability to interact with co-workers, individuals served, families and the public with emotional maturity, good judgment, tact and courtesy.  Must be able to perform responsibly under indirect supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for becoming familiar with the individual’s Care Plan/Safeguards and provide any change of information and/or concerns to the program supervisor.
  • Monitor and provide the extent of assistance necessary with activities of daily living, i.e. toileting, eating, ambulation and dressing, including the provision of lifting assistance as needed.
  • Work with people on habilitation allowable services in accordance to established frequencies and adhere to documentation standards.
  • Administer medications (site based only) per NY State and agency policies and procedures.

Habilitation Specialist II

In this role you will provide individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities with training and supervision required by their Individual Services Plan (ISP).

Full Time & Part Time available. Schedule is flexible to fit individuals schedules according to their needs.

Responsibilities:

  • One on One ratio
  • Provide the necessary therapeutic assistance and/or training to individuals, living in a variety of settings, per their habilitation plan.

Order Fulfillment Coordinator

This is a customer focused and hands-on position. You will be working with current fulfillment customers and ensuring all orders are fulfilled on time accurately. The position is responsible to work with customers through email and phone communication on a daily basis and fulfilling each order from receiving to shipping while maintaining all inventory.

Schedule is Full time, Flexible schedule, which may include evenings and weekends

You will provide management of the day-to-day operations of the residences; supervision of the individuals day-to-day activities, socialization, recreation and daily living skills development.

Full Time & Part Time; Variable 3 day incremented schedules, sleeping overnights required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assure the maintenance, housekeeping and food preparation duties of the residence in order to provide a clean, neat, healthy and safe environment. Provide oversight and guidance if necessary to the individuals in the completion of household tasks such as laundry, menu preparation, and shopping, cooking, minor maintenance of the house and grounds with the goal of increasing independence.
  • Know the current Individualized Service Plan specific to each individual and follow through with the provision of services as outlined.
  • Review the Daily Notes and House Log since their last shift. Complete or review incident reports and forward to the Program Manager within prescribed time frames. Assure that medication verification is completed per policy during their shift. Follow fiscal accountability procedures and maintain accurate financial records for each individual.

Respite Specialist

You will be providing respite (relief) for family members of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Respite service may take place in the community or at a site-based program. Site is based at Respite Care Home.

In this position you will assist the College-Works Work Life Skills Instructor in the daily implementation of the program and classroom instruction. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the program staff with the development and implementation of classroom instruction, skill training and supervision of individuals enrolled in the program and back- up for Work Life Skills Instructor when absent.

Schedule is primarily M-F but variable hours to meet the needs of the class; could include a weekend shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor each person's social, medical, and financial well-being and report all concerns to the Clinical Supervisor or Assistant Director. Oversee the arrangement of medical appointments with input from the RN.
  • Direct supervision of staff including: facilitate and attend all site visits for prospective employee candidates, provide on-site orientation for all new hires as well as on-going training for all staff, approve time off requests, securing coverage to ensure adequate staffing plans at all times,
  • Provide oversight and guidance to the people we support , with the completion of household tasks such as laundry, menu preparation, shopping, cooking, minor maintenance of the house and grounds with the goal of increasing independence.

Instruction may involve a combination of different teaching methods to accommodate the diverse learning styles of students.

Responsibilities include development and implementation of college-based classroom instructions for work life skill development for students enrolled in the College-Works program at MVCC. This instruction, training and supervision will take place in whatever setting is deemed appropriate under the guidelines of the plan, which has been developed with the student

You will be responsible for the provision of employment supports to people with developmental disabilities in the community to help them identify and meet their vocational needs, maximizing their independence and utilizing all of the resources in the community available to them.

Flexible Schedule to include nights & weekends

Responsibilities:

  • Able to assess people  with varying disabilities to develop and implement an employment plan which will include strategies to overcome barriers to employment and to appropriately match an individual’s interest and abilities to a supported job.
  • Perform job development/job retention activities as necessary to include, but not be limited to, job assessments, job readiness skills training and work/life skills training. 
  • Teach individuals how to access community supports to assist them with childcare, travel training, residential living and securing/receiving supplemental benefits.
  • Work independently in the community.
  • Provide supports such as benefits advisor, case manager, service coordinator and life coach when needed to support the person and assist in gaining independence.  
  • Attend all ISP meeting and meetings with support staff to ensure quality services.

In this role you will manage the Individual Support Services and Family Support Services programs of our Community & Family Services Department!

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate the funding and implementation of the Independent Support Services (ISS) programs: Pals, Residential ISS, North and South Dial a Drive, Recreation & Relaxation program.
  • Coordinate the funding and implementation of Family Support Services (FSS) programs: Respite Reimbursement; Reading, Math and After School Learning and Care Giver Retreat.

Plan Writer [Bachelor's Degree]

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the plan of services based on person centered planning concepts that are delivered to each assigned person we support. In this role you will work with the person and their support team to develop and revise the habilitation goals with a focus on areas that are most important to the person, and is ultimately responsible for ensuring consistent implementation and documentation of all aspects of the individual’s program plan. The Plan Writer develops these services in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop all aspects of the Staff Action Plan, including IPOPs & Safeguards at least annually for each person we support assigned using person centered planning. Staff Action Plans must also be reviewed at least semi-annually.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure all information necessary for new intakes is obtained, implemented and, shared appropriately with team members.
  • Work closely with the person and their support team to ensure services, health related and otherwise, are implemented appropriately.
  • Develop monthly summaries for services each person receives. Analyze data and determine progress, regression, etc. Revise Staff Action Plan as needed.
  • Conduct on-site observations and provide feedback to staff to ensure proper, consistent implementation of goals and plans.

Support Program Manager [Bachelor's Degree]

In this position you will ensure coverage for each residential home in Oneida County as well as the health and safety of people we support. You are responsible for the effective and efficient physical and social operation of each Oneida County residential home.

Schedule is flexible to meet program needs, includes nights and weekend coverage

Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible to develop a weekly coverage sheet identifying all shifts; indicating who is working what shifts and what shifts that are vacant and need to be filled.
  • Complete coverage sheets to pass onto Oneida County Program Managers and Residential Administrative Team at least one week in advance (Monday for the following week). Share coverage sheet once all shifts are filled for the week.
  • Using a list of available staff, is responsible to be the main contact to fill vacant shifts; keeping track of staff who have been contacted for availability of any shifts.
  • With input from the Systems Manager, maintain a request for leave calendar to be utilized to approve time off and ensure adequate coverage at all times.
  • Assists each Program Manager in Oneida County, to monitor and arrange coverage for their assigned homes. Process all coverage requests, in accordance with program minimums and available resources to accommodate these requests.

  • Assists direct care staff with extraordinary comprehensive medical appointments, emergency room visits and hospital stays.
  • Assists with nursing assessments, summaries and medical records under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to staff and individuals on diet and nutrition.  Reviews menus for proper nutrition.

  • Monitor medication safety, storage and administrations via AMAP personnel
  • Provide management of accidents and illnesses; making necessary referrals or recommendations to appropriate staff or others
  • Complete and maintain all required documentation, both in electronic and paper format
  • Provide professional and clinical nursing oversight of the LPNs and AMAP staff assigned to sites under your supervision. Provide directives on medical oversight to any Direct Support Professional

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate active knowledge of people’s nursing needs, nutrition, medications, communicable disease and infection control

Speech Language Pathologist [Licensed]

You will provide intervention and evaluation of speech and language disorders to those children who are identified in need of speech therapy services.

Full Time; Schedule is flexible to include nights/weekends.

Responsibilities:

Habilitation Specialist II

In this role you will provide individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities with training and supervision required by their Individual Services Plan (ISP).

Full Time. Schedule is flexible to fit individuals schedules according to their needs.

Responsibilities:

  • One on One ratio
  • Provide the necessary therapeutic assistance and/or training to individuals, living in a variety of settings, per their habilitation plan.
  • Ensure the implementation of the individual’s Habilitation Plan utilizing as many appropriate resources as possible in their community.
  • Possess the ability to work effectively at various sites.

Lead Janitorial Worker

In this position you are responsible for the completion of daily cleaning tasks in Lewis County.  This position will also oversee supplies inventory, and equipment maintenance.  This position will be responsible to clean multiple Arc locations on a daily basis.  This involves using an agency provided vehicle to travel from location to location on a daily basis.

Schedule is Monday-Friday Evenings 

Responsibilities: 

  • Have a functional understanding of all aspects of the customers cleaning requirements.
  • Maintain proper security when entering/leaving the building to comply with rules set forth by the customer.
  • Complete all job tasks listed in the scope of work, and ensure the cleaning performed on a daily basis.
  • Maintain appropriate supply inventory and order as needed.
  • Provide excellent communication and service to the customer and employees.  

Ensure all Janitorial staff is providing excellent customer service to all worksite employees.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED with three years of experience in a Janitorial position.

Residence Counselor Awake-Over-Night

You will provide management of the night operations of the residences and supervision of the individual during night period. Light housekeeping duties apply.

Full Time & Part Time; Variable days 10pm-7am.

Residence Manager

You will provide management of the day-to-day operations of the residences; supervision of the individuals day-to-day activities, socialization, recreation and daily living skills development.

Full Time & Part Time; Variable 3 day incremented schedules, sleeping overnights required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assure the maintenance, housekeeping and food preparation duties of the residence in order to provide a clean, neat, healthy and safe environment. Provide oversight and guidance if necessary to the individuals in the completion of household tasks such as laundry, menu preparation, shopping, cooking, minor maintenance of the house and grounds with the goal of increasing independence.
  • Know the current Individualized Service Plan specific to each individual and follow through with the provision of services as outlined.
  • Review the Daily Notes and House Log since their last shift. Complete or review incident reports and forward to the Program Manager within prescribed time frames. Assure that medication verification is completed per policy during their shift. Follow fiscal accountability procedures and maintain accurate financial records for each individual.

Activities Liaison [Associate's Degree]

In this role you will ensures Day Habilitation services provided for people residing in Arc residences are meaningful, productive, individualized and community inclusive and consistent with OPWDD guidelines.

The schedule is Monday-Friday, Full Time

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the implementation of a person's staff action plan utilizing as many appropriate resources in the person’s community as possible.
  • Assist the program directors with the supervision and training of new staff to day service documentation and service delivery as well as retrain staff as needed.
  • Design, develop, lead and monitor day service activities for people living in Arc residences.
  • Complete weekly schedules for day service activities that offer opportunities for meaningful activities which enhance skills and independence for people in Arc residences.
  • Arrange transportation to/from activities for the people we support by working with Day Service and Assistant Residential program directors.
  • Develop relationships with community businesses, agencies and other entities in order to establish volunteer / activity opportunities for the people we support.
  • Communicate progress toward goals with program directors to assist with developing individualized goals for people.

  • Associate’s Degree in human services or related field with at least one year of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities ( Or)

Community Recreation Specialist [Associate's Degree]

Responsible to plan, coordinate and direct the various programs for the waiver respite and corresponding contract programs in Lewis County. Will work directly with groups of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a recreation settings within the community and agency.  Responsible for the learning experiences and supervision for people with intellectual developmental disabilities

Schedule is Full- Time, Monday –Friday  

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the implementation of assigned duties and activities provided by the Community Respite Programs Manager.
  • Researches available community activities, schedule activities and provide the people we support and their families with monthly calendar of activities, as well as provide direct supervision during respite programming.
  • Attend annual ISP meeting of each participant as needed (not mandatory but good practice).
  • Process and monitor usage of petty cash accounts, purchase requests, supplies and inventories for hourly respite programs.
