Code of Conduct and Whistleblower Non-Retaliation Statement

The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter Whistleblower and Non-Retaliation Standards

  • All employees, volunteers, governing members and persons affiliated with this Agency and whose affiliation allows them to serve as a representative of this Agency is considered to be an Agent of The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter.
  • All Agents have a responsibility to report identified concerns or violations of the Agency Compliance policy, Code of Conduct and/or Federal, State or local mandates to a supervisor or Corporate Compliance Officer
  •  “Good Faith” reporting occurs when a person poses questions or reports a concern about a suspected violation and this question or concern is based on that person’s good faith interpretation of the situation and a reasonable perception that the matter being presented is in violation of the Agency Compliance policy, Code of Conduct and/or Federal, State or local regulatory guidance.
  • Any person who reports a concern or identified issue in “good faith” is protected by Agency policy even if following a full investigation, the report is considered unsubstantiated.
  • At no time shall a person who in good faith reports a violation of the Agency Compliance policy, Code of Conduct or Federal, State or local regulations be retaliated against for that reporting.
  • Any person who retaliates against a good faith reporter is subject to disciplinary actions up to and including termination of affiliation with the Agency.
  • Retaliation is defined as actions directed at a person in response to an identified situation which include but are not limited to harassment, ostracizing, and/or imposed adverse employment consequences

Code of Conduct

The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter, NYSARC has a long-standing reputation of providing quality services and supports to persons with disabilities and their families.

The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter is committed to maintaining the highest ethical and legal standards in all dealings with governance, persons we support, families, advocates, governmental agencies, regulatory bodies, accrediting agencies and professional associations.

The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter maintains an expectation that all personnel will demonstrate behavior which exemplifies principles of honesty, integrity and professionalism as well as a commitment to adhere to all Federal, state and local regulations and mandates.

Violations of the Agency Compliance policy and/or Code of Conduct will be treated seriously and will result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination and referral to outside authorities for civil and/or criminal prosecution as indicated.
