Applying and Eligibility

CollegeWorks accepts students year-round in both the Utica and Rome programs.

ARE THERE TUITION COSTS FOR CollegeWorks?

There is no out-of-pocket cost for students and families; however, students must be Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) eligible with Medicaid waiver services and a Care Manager. No private pay options are available at this time.

Additional eligibility requirements for CollegeWorks are:

Applicants must be 18 or older and have completed High School (local diploma or other).

Applicants must have the demonstrated ability to be in the community and independently.

Applicants must be able to adhere to the Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) Code of Conduct at all times with no significant behavior needs.

Applicants must have the demonstrated ability to learn public transportation. Travel training is provided. Transportation to and from the program is not offered.

Applicants must complete an interview with the admissions staff.

Applicants must complete the entire admission process.

A completed application with a visit, interview, and various documentation with medical and other records is needed before any applicant can be accepted and begin the program.
