The CollegeWorks program enrolled its first freshmen class in the Utica program in 2005, which became the first graduating class in 2007. In 2010, CollegeWorks expanded to offer the program in Rome. Since its inception, over 100 students have successfully completed the program, many of whom have gained competitive employment and/or living independently in the community.
CollegeWorks is a two-year, non-degree certificate program tailored specifically to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) offered on a college campus to help students receive a college experience while simultaneously building skills and knowledge needed to help transition into independent adults. This post-secondary program provides a pathway to increased independence and overall well-being while equipping students with the skills and confidence to lead fulfilling and productive lives.
