An Amazing Day
The Arc New York's CEO Erik Geizer visited The Arc, Oneida-Lewis, to meet and mingle with chapter staff and people we support.
Mr. Geizer's tour started at Progress Industries in Marcy, where he witnessed the business enterprise in action fulfilling contracts. From there, he visited the renovation of a new Respite Care Home nearing completion before his final stop, The Arc's Chef's Express bakeshop at 241 Genesee Street in Utica. Geizer was given a goodie bag to take back with him to Albany that included a Utica original: Halfmoon cookies.
"Getting out, going to chapters, and seeing the way we touch people's lives that we support is way more rewarding for me than sitting in the office," said Geizer before having lunch with The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Leadership team.
The Arc, Oneida-Lewis is one of 35 chapters of The Arc New York statewide association, and Geizer says it will take a collective effort for The Arc to reach its goals. "We support 60,000 across the state. We can do it best when we are working together to see what works best to support them. I want to thank Oneida-Lewis for having me out here. I'll be back, especially for those baked goods!"
